The UK Government legislation requires private landlords in England and Wales to meet Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES), which is currently an EPC rating of E or higher. The proposed uplift to a C rating by 2030, this is for existing tenancies. Whilst new tenancies for landlords, efficiency standards have been updated on the new government legislations of a C rating, being extended to October 2030.
